How to Make Hemp Milk

How to make hemp milk intro graphic for recipe

With the introduction of so many healthy, nutritious hemp food products we believe it’s finally time we started to get you cooking with hemp!

Hemp milk is a healthy, dairy-free alternative to milk. It’s naturally nutty even though it’s nut free and is made entirely of plants so good for both vegans and sustainably conscious shoppers. It is packed with calcium, minerals, essential amino acids, vitamins A,D & B12 goodness.

Compared to dairy, hemp milk has fewer calories, protein, and carbohydrates yet has more protein and healthy fats than other plant-based alternatives. Organic hemp milk uniquely contains all essential amino acids including omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids making it a complete protein.
Hemp is the most digestible of plant-based milks and, when made fresh at home, ensures you can control the level of sugars and other undesirable additives your family consume, protecting their gut health. What’s not to love??

What will you need?

  • 1⁄2 cup hemp hearts
  • 3 cups filtered water
  • 3-5 dates
  • 1⁄2 tsp vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 tsp coconut oil
  • For chocolate flavour add 2-3 tbsp cacao powder

Follow the simple steps to make it:

It really is as simple as this.

Combine all ingredients in a high speed blender and blend for a few minutes until smooth. If you prefer you can strain the milk but personally we believe there’s no need, the milk is delicious, smooth and naturally creamy. Will keep in the fridge for up to 4 days.
