Meet the Team: Jordan Curtis

Say hello to Jordan C! Jordan is behind the scenes at The Hemp Company looking after customer service, online sales and working hard as the post team rep.

When your orders from the website land, Jordan is responsible for packing and posting them, maintaining stock levels on the website and answering your queries via email and over the phone. He also keeps his ear to the ground when it comes to new and innovative hemp products or other industry developments to further his understanding of all things hemp!

We caught up with Jordan to chat through how he became involved with the hemp company and to find out what some of his favourite hemp related things are:

What do you enjoy the most about your job?

The thing I most enjoy about my job is feeling like I am helping people in starting them on their CBD journey and spreading knowledge and awareness on the many uses that the hemp plant has.

How did you become interested in hemp initially?

I originally became interested in hemp when a friend of mine worked in the shop a few years ago, I then started to learn the many uses that hemp has just by visiting the shop and speaking to the staff that were working here. I was completely amazed at the number of things you could do with the hemp plant. I was particularly interested in hemp clothing and how it can be both sustainable and ethical (while obviously looking cool as well).

What is your favourite hemp product?

One of my favourite products in the shop are the Hemp Hearts (starting at €6.37), which are the de-shelled hemp seeds. I find them very easy to incorporate into my diet with some porridge in the morning. Not just because they’re delicious, but they also have great nutritional value too. This was something that surprised me as I started learning more about hemp and how rich in protein and Omega 3 % 6 the hemp foods are. Before I would have just thought about the hemp plant in flower form.

What’s the best thing about working in the hemp company?

One of my favourite things about working in the hemp industry is that you meet a lot of interesting, knowledgeable people that come into the shop and contact us. I feel like it’s an industry that’s always changing and evolving and I am constantly learning new information on both CBD and the Hemp Plant each day from the people around me.

Outside of work what do you get up to?

When I’m not working for The Hemp Company, I also play in a band called Loraine Club, being surrounded by creative and likeminded people is really important to me. I have met a lot of great people while working in the shop and I think there’s always a pretty relaxed and upbeat atmosphere on the shop floor each day.
